Alpine Health has welcomed a significant $150,000 donation from the Mount Beauty Hospital Op Shop, supporting the expansion of perioperative services at Mount Beauty Hospital.

The contribution has funded essential clinical equipment, including a gastroscope, colonoscope, anaesthetic trolley, patient trolley, ECG machines, and other key items—strengthening the hospital’s ability to deliver safe, high-quality care locally.

This investment directly supports Alpine Health’s growing surgical services in Mount Beauty, helping more people access procedures and diagnostic care closer to home, reducing the need to travel long distances.

Interim Chief Executive Officer Cameron Butler said the donation reflects not only generosity, but a strong and enduring connection between the community and its local health service.

“This generous contribution from the Mount Beauty Hospital Op Shop will make a real difference for our community,” he said.

“It’s a powerful example of community supporting community—where funds raised locally are reinvested directly into local care. That connection is something we don’t take for granted.”

“Every piece of equipment purchased through this donation will support safer care, better access, and a more comfortable experience for people receiving treatment close to home.”

Mount Beauty Hospital Op Shop president, Lynn Blandford said they were proud to see the impact of their efforts come full circle.

“Our volunteers are part of this community, and so are the people who rely on these services,” Lynn said.

“Knowing that the funds raised through the Op Shop are helping friends, neighbours, and families receive care locally makes it incredibly meaningful.”

The expansion of perioperative services is part of Alpine Health’s broader partnership with Albury Wodonga Health and Northeast Health Wangaratta to strengthen local surgical care, including increased access surgical procedures and specialist-led services.

Alpine Health extends its sincere thanks to the Mount Beauty Hospital Op Shop volunteers and the wider community for their continued support and shared commitment to high-quality, local healthcare.
