Hawthorn Village
Hawthorn Village is a 40 bed residential aged care facility located in Bright, North East Victoria and forms part of the overall Alpine Health Multi-Purpose Service.
Hawthorn Village is located 100m from the Bright Hospital and provides low level support to permanent and respite residents in single room accommodation.
As a low-care facility, residents may come and go from the facility as they wish.
Hawthorn Village is set amongst beautiful gardens sprawling over two acres with each room opening out onto a private veranda with a view of the garden. Due to its proximity and their low level requirements residents are often able to independently continue to be part of the community.
Hawthorn Village is designed and staffed to offer people requiring minimal nursing care a safe place to live. Alpine Health’s goal is to provide care that meets the needs of the resident. If the resident needs change and they require a higher level of nursing care, which cannot be provided at Hawthorn Village, residents, and their families will be assisted by the Nurse Unit Manager to seek aged care accommodation which meets those needs. Residents and families are encouraged to choose a high-care facility to move to if or when their care needs change.
Alpine Health strongly encourages the resident and their families to secure a place on the waiting list in the high-care facility of their choice when they first move to Hawthorn Village. This decision will avoid further disappointment and reduce the stress of moving if the time comes that you or your family member can no longer be cared for at Hawthorn Village.
About the Facility
Four sitting rooms (321m2 and 140m2) with tea and coffee facilities, situated at the end of each wing. Two wings connect to an activity room (48m2 each), with large windows over-looking different aspects of the garden. Dining room (90m2) seating 40 residents, with an view onto a garden/pergola area. All communal areas are furnished in a welcoming and homely fashion.
The Rooms
Hawthorn Village provides quality rooms in excellent condition. Maintained to a high standard with a schedule for refurbishment. All rooms have an en-suite. Each room has a sliding door giving individual access to outside verandahs which meander around the beautiful surroundings of the Village with views of the picturesque mountains that surround Bright. Each outlook is individual. Furnished with fixed items such as carpets, quality curtains and built in drawers, one lockable. Wardrobe with full length mirror. Heating and overhead fans controlled within each room. 24 hour alarm system in case of emergency; 3 buzzer locations. Telephone connections in each room. All rooms provided with hydraulic bed to assist residents to get in and out of bed to maintain independence.
