Alpine Health’s PACE Team comprised of Alpine Health, Murray PHN and Ovens Valley Physio & Pilates, Equilibre Health, Kiewa Valley Sports & Spinal Physiotherapy are very excited to have been named as a finalist in the 2020 Hesta Excellence Awards.

Under the Team Excellence – Allied Health category the PACE (Pulmonary and Cardiac Exercise and Education) team is recognised for going above and beyond to deliver outstanding client care in the face of great challenges and adversity.

As devastating bushfires threatened the region and caused all team members to evacuate, the team seamlessly continued to deliver the program to clients using telehealth via both phone and internet.

The PACE team was able to provide cardiopulmonary rehabilitation programs either at community venues or in the home rather than at a hospital, which is quite unique. We have received more than 300 referrals in 2.5 years of operation, improving quality of life and health outcomes for clients in the region.

Ms. Emma Ghys, Early Intervention Manager at Alpine Health said “I just love that the team's culture, commitment and compassion shines through no matter what challenges are thrown our way.”

“The team is incredibly honored and excited to be nominated for this award. It is well deserved recognition for the team, who have worked hard this year to be innovative and agile to respond to an ever changing environment. Congratulations PACE Team” she said.

The winner will be announced at the 2020 Hesta Excellence Awards held in November. The winner will receive a nationally recognised award, trophy and $7,500 funding to go towards equipment to support the program.
