Improved Access to State-of-the-Art X-ray Equipment at Alpine Health

9 July 2024

Alpine Health is pleased to announce a significant upgrade to its medical imaging capabilities across our three sites in Myrtleford, Bright and Mt Beauty. Thanks to a successful funding allocation of $592,536 from the Regional Health Infrastructure Fund, Alpine Health has invested in new, state-of-the-art X-ray equipment that will enhance diagnostic services for the local community.

The installation of this new equipment marks a substantial milestone in Alpine Health's commitment to providing high-quality healthcare services closer to home. The upgraded X-ray machines, which include advanced digital diagnostic capabilities and greater patient comfort and safety, will ensure that residents of Myrtleford, Bright, and Mt Beauty have access to accredited, cutting-edge medical imaging technologies.

To facilitate the seamless installation and integration of the new equipment, medical imaging services at all three Alpine Health sites will be temporarily suspended during July and August. This brief interruption is necessary to accommodate essential building works, installation, and comprehensive training. Alpine Health appreciates the community's understanding and patience during this period.

"This investment in new X-ray equipment represents a significant enhancement in our ability to provide the facilities for our partner services to deliver accurate and timely diagnostic services locally," said Nick Shaw, CEO of Alpine Health. "We are committed to ensuring that our community receives the highest standard of care, and these new facilities will play a crucial role in achieving that goal."

The upgraded facilities are expected to be fully operational by September 2024, following the completion of all installation and testing phases.

During service interruptions, Alpine community members can make appointments at public X-ray services at Northeast Health Wangaratta on 03 5722 5001 and Albury Wodonga Health (02) 6051 7370. Other Alpine Health services may also be impacted by the installation works and we will be managing communications directly with the providers and impacted patients.

Alpine Health would like to thank the Victorian Government and the Regional Health Infrastructure Fund for their support and investment in enhancing healthcare services in regional Victoria.
