Closure of Alpine Institute

21 August 2024

Alpine Health regrets to announce the closure of its Registered Training Organisation, the Alpine Institute.

The Alpine Institute has seen declining student numbers over the past few years, which has been largely attributed to COVID-19 resulting in significant changes to the pathways for international nurse bridging programs, the introduction of free Nursing and health qualifications through TAFE and Universities, and tightening of the State’s health budget.

The Alpine Institute has been an integral part of our commitment to health improvement and health education. Over the past 14 years, it has played a crucial role in developing skilled professionals who contribute to the wellbeing of our communities.  The journey has included issuing over 4,228 qualifications including 3,300 First Aid/ CPR qualifications, 50 Diploma of Nursing qualifications, 145 Individual Support qualifications and over 535 International Registered Nurses completing bridging programs to begin their registered nursing journey in Australia.

We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to the staff, students, and partners who have supported the Alpine Institute throughout its tenure.

Rhys Gloury | Chief Executive Officer (interim)
