Alpine Health X-ray and ultrasound services to recommence in September

Alpine Health is pleased to announce that its new X-ray machine installation project is complete, and local X-ray & ultrasound services will resume in September 2024.

Myrtleford and Bright Hospitals will begin offering X-ray and ultrasound services from the 9 and 16 September, respectively, with a visiting public X-ray and ultrasound services from Northeast Health Wangaratta available one day per week. X-rays and ultrasounds will be bulk billed at no cost to the patient through this service.

For X-rays conducted through Urgent Care by local GPs, out-of-pocket costs will apply. Mount Beauty will also have X-ray services starting 17 September, with similar arrangements for Urgent Care.

For emergencies, the nearest public hospital Emergency Departments and X-ray services are located at Northeast Health Wangaratta, 35-47 Green St, Wangaratta and Albury Wodonga Health - Wodonga Hospital Vermont Street, Wodonga.

The new state of art X-ray machines and the visiting services reduce the need for local people to travel long distances to access basic services. “
